RANK SYSTEM RULES

RANK
1) There shall be an overall rank and a weapon rank
2) Ranks will be decided through an in-club tournament
3) The ranks of newer members will be added on to the overall and weapon rank after the completion of an in-club tournament separate from the one mentioned in Rule 2. Ex: If there are currently 5 members ranked, and a new member makes 1st place in the separate in-club tournament, they will receive the 6th place. Likewise if a member makes 2nd place in the separate in-club tournament, they shall receive 7th place, and so on.
4) At the start of the Fall and Spring semesters, ranks will be reset.
5) To be included in the rank system, in-club tournaments, and challenges, members must have payed (or be in the process of paying) their dues.
6) It is possible that awards may given at the end of the Spring semester.

CHALLENGES
7) In order to rise in rank, a member must declare a challenge for the desired slot.
8) Challenges will be declared in the first 15 minutes of practice
9) The order in which challenges are declared will be from lowest rank to highest rank. I.E Low ranks challenge first.
10) A challenge declared within the first 15 minutes of practice cannot be refused.
11) If two people are challenging for the same slot in the first 15 minutes, a challenger may pay a dollar. The challenger that is paying the dollar fences for the slot first.
12) Challenges can be declared after the first 15 minutes, but the defender then can refuse a challenge
13) One member may not declare more than two challenges in one day.
14) One member may not rise more than two ranks in one day, conversely, they also cannot fall more than two ranks in one day.
15) Challenges will occur Sundays and Mondays only.
16) Warm-up bouts will occur before actual challenge bouts.
17) Challenge bouts are electric.
18) If 2 weeks pass after waiting to challenge for a rank, and the member holding the desired rank still does not show, said member will go down one rank.
